The eight of you will be. Since I wasn't invited to meet the Empress, I'll be taking a group of my own to avoid being alone when we have to separate. It really is dangerous for anyone to be alone.

Yeah. We really don't know the first thing about what's going to be down there. I've been into one of those pits before, but not far enough to see where things like that would go.

The one in Kulen was too dark to see, wasn't it? Were the others?

As for tomorrow, you do have some fighters in your group. Kaito is more adaptive than he pretends to be, and Crow's knowledgeable. I don't know all of you well, but it's not a bad group.

I know Crow, he's a pretty trustworthy guy. If Fang is who I think she is, then she's pretty smart too. The kind of person with good survival instincts, I would guess.

There's a pit like it in Rota. It's a straight drop for a while, and then it levels out mostly, with a tunnel at the base that goes down further. Like this:

I got as far as where it flattens out, in that one, but not any further down.

Assume the one below Kulen is large. Judging by the number of parasites, there'll be a lot of them, and they've invited us all without mention of limitations. It probably also features drops and declines. If they're intelligent, they would have gone far enough down that it would be hard for someone digging to find them.

Yeah. Obviously there's no real scale, but the one I saw before, it was a really long drop just to get to that first landing. The only reason I made it down and back out again was because climbing is part of my dad's training.

Hopefully they give us a ladder or something.

You've seen the insects haven't you? Could they fly? Or did it seem like they could climb?

I'm sorry. The way it went, I couldn't see what happened around anybody else. All the hosts around me only released creatures in a larval stage. I didn't see any but those.

They need to get up the steep drops in some way. They can probably fly if they're willing to go that deep, but it would be an advantage to us if they could only climb.

But you've been helpful. If it weren't for those who remembered, we would be going in blind.
